Organizational Analysis of Mental Health Services Accessibility for the English-Speaking Community of the Capitale-Nationale Region.

*AVAILABLE IN FRENCH ONLY*
This report begins with an analysis of the use of English as a determinant of access to mental health services in the Capitale-Nationale region and the response of the health and social services network to the mental health needs of the English-speaking population. The report identifies service organization factors that can be addressed to better meet the needs of the English-speaking population. To conduct this exploratory qualitative study, administrators and professionals providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line mental health services, as well as current and potential service users, were interviewed. The analysis revealed that the English language still remains a barrier to accessing mental health services in the Capitale-Nationale region. The heterogeneity of the English-speaking population and its small population base are factors to be considered in the organization of services, as is the importance of organizing services around the Holland Centre.
